A good night!

My Candlelit dinner Armando made last night! ;)
Our new couch! Very comfy!

Beef Chuck Shoulder I cooked for dinner the other night! Yummy!!
Just wanted to post a few pictures for my mom and everyone else to see!
Not a whole lot going on out this way, just busy trying to get everything in order!
Slowly but surely everything is starting to "find it's place"!
Today Armando, Eli, Jenny, Lupe and myself are all going sightseeing so that should be lots of fun! I will post pictures from that later!
Last night Armando suprised me with a candlelit dinner on the porch! It was very nice, he even made heart shaped napkins! lol After dinner the Bazans came over for a while which was nice! Her brother moved here with them, his name is Lupe'! Seeing them together makes me miss my brother! He's a real nice guy though! Well Armando should be getting home soon and then we are off to go sightseeing so I need to get ready! I'll post again later today!
I love you guys!

Wins!

I haven't been keeping up with the sweepstakes like I want to, but so far this week I have won 3 Trek water bottles, 15 dollar Best Buy card, unlimited salad/soup from Carino's, free shipping from HSN and another Pizza from Papa Johns!! Pretty gootd for just a few minutes of my time!

On another note Armando started back to work this morning! He just left, but I miss him already knowing he's not gonna be around all day long! It's been such a blessing being able to spend so much time with him! It will be nice for us to get back into our routine though! I hope he likes it here at Ft. Carson! I am sure he will! He's not a complainer and can adapt to any situation with so much ease!

It seems that the El Paso County Fair is here so I think Armando and I may go tonight! I look forward to that! I'm gonna make sure to take a jacket or wear a hoodie! It's been really chilly here at night time! For now, I'm gonna get going and do some chores around the house! I will post again later and hopefully add some new pictures!

Looking like home...

We have finally started to get things together and our apartment is starting to look like home! we have the living room, dining area and kitchen finished! We have almost finished the bedroom, but still have to finish our headboard! Armando and I both did some work in the extra bedroom today but we still have some things to go through! Our friends arrived yesterday and we cooked dinner for them! It was good to see them! I am glad Jenny is here! Other than going through some boxes, washing clothes and everyday house chores it's been pretty much a lazy day! It's about 6:30 and the "stormy" part of the day has arrived! The great thing about here is if you don't like the weather you just have to wait around about 15 minutes and it's completely different! We have the windows up, just letting the house "air out" since the wind is blowing so hard! It feels great! Not sure what we're gonna have for dinner but it's time I get off of here and figure it out! I'm sure Armando's starting to get hungry! Hope everyone had a great day! Love and hugs to all of you!

Busy Busy Busy...

Armando and I have been super busy since we got our household goods on Thursday! Things are slowly but surely starting to come together! We still have lots of boxes to go through though! :) Today our friends, the Bazans are arriving! I am very excited that Jenny will be here now! We are going to cook dinner for them this afternoon since all of their stuff is still packed up! I know they are tired and hungry and ready to eat something besides fast food! Armando and I went baragin shopping on Saturday and found some really neat stuff! Hobby Lobby had aisles of Home Decor stuff 90% off!!!! We also found an old desk at a thrift store that we bought for 12 dollars!!! Oh and I saved 60 dollars grocery shopping!!! Unbelievable!!! lol We spent very little money and got lots of great stuff! I will post pics sometime later this week of our place!

On a sad note I saw this morning that a video had surfaced of the U.S. soldier who was captured in Afghanistan! Please take a moment to stop and say a special prayer for this young man who has to be terrified beyond belief and for his family and friends!!! Also for his battle buddies who have to be worried/scared.... their morale had to of taken a huge hit knowing their fellow buddy/soldier has been captured! May God watch over and protect this young man and bring him back safely to his unit so that he may return safely to his family!!!!

Now they have a place to sit!

It's true, we finally got our couch today and boy is it nice to have a comfy place to sit! Slowly but surely its starting to look "homey"! We should get the rest of our stuff on Thursday, I just got off the phone with the Transportation office and they said it would be delivered between 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.!!!! That's great news, it will be nice to have all of our stuff here! We've been washing and wearing the same clothes like crazy! lol Last night Armando and I felt a little creativity bubble in our brains so we made a quick trip to Walmart and Michaels and made some stuff for our home!! Fun Fun! I will post pics of the stuff we made when we get it put up! Oh! While I have it on my mind, you should definetly give the Purex 3-in-1 laundry sheets a try. They are awesome. Well i guess thats it for now, will write more soon.

I'm a winner...

I took Laura's advice and gave the sweepstakes a try! I just won a 2 topping Medium Pizza and 2 20 oz. drinks from Papa Johns! Looks like I know what Armando and I will be having for dinner tomorrow night! lol We're still at the hotel tonight, gonna go back to the apartment tomorrow! I am SOOOO ready to get our household goods!!!! Thursday cannot come fast enough! We are tired of Fast food and hotel rooms! I'll write more later today!

4 more nights....

and then GOODBYE AIR MATTRESS!!!! :( Thursday morning, hopefully bright and early the moving company is finally going to deliver our household goods! Comcast hooked up our internet this morning, and Tuesday our new couch is being delivered! It seems that things are starting to fall into place and we are very excited about that! Tonight we are staying at the Best Western hoping to get a good nights rest! We didn't do much today. Swam, relaxed in a big hot tub and watched television. It was another rainy afternoon here. My friend Lace and her family got into town tonight so it will be nice to see her soon! It's good to know she's here! Oh an the most exciting thing.... I found out that my cousin Laura has internet!!!!! I am very excited about that as she and I are the same age and she's just always been like my sister. Over the past couple of years we haven't kept in touch the way I want us to and when I moved I was worried it would make that worse, but now that she has the internet, I feel like it will be an easier way for us to keep up with one another!!

On a completely different note, Armando and I have searched this city high and low trying to find my make-up since we got here, but to no avail until tonight!!! We went to Walmart and they had two tubes so we bought both of them just in case! lol Just an exciting tid bid of info! (for me it was)

Well, I'm about to head to bed. Looking forward to what tomorrow brings! Will write again soon and hopefully post some new pics!

Oh how beautiful...

Yesterday Armando and I had the blessing of driving all the way to the top of the beautiful Pike's Peak! The Pike's Peak highway intrance is only about 10 minutes from our house. It takes about 1 hour to drive all the way to the top! It was absolutely amazing to look down below and see things getting smaller and smaller. The further we drove the clouds got closer and closer until eventually we were standing outside the car and got to experience a huge cloud come right over us!!! It was absolutely amazing to see so clearly and to see a huge beautiful cloud move closer and closer until it was right on top of us and everything got "dark" as it moved over us! We finally made it to the top where it was snowing and 36 degrees! We didnt stay long as the altitude was way too much for me and it begin to get very hard to get my breath!!! Needless to say we got to a lower alltitude as soon as posible after that! :) None the less it was beautiful and we were both very excited to experience it!

Here's a few pictures:

Our new home!

JUST UPLOADING SOME PICS FOR EVERYONE TO SEE!!!!

Another rainy Colorado day!

Got up early this morning checked out of the hotel and went and unloaded the car at the apartment. After that we went shopping, pretty much all day looking for stuff for our new home! We made the short drive up to Peterson Airforce Base which is very nice! While we were leaving, it started lightning really bad and we got to experience our first taste of Colorado Hail! Saw more rainbows today, so that means we've saw one everyday since we got here. We're now back at the Best Western tired and hungry.... Wishing we were back home in Mississippi having some of My Daddy and Grandpa's good cooking! There's no one in the world that can cook like them! Armando woke up this morning saying he wished he had some of my Daddy's Sausage and biscuits! Maybe before too much longer we can do just that! Well we're about to order some delivery and try to wind down so tomorrow we can go do some exploring!

Another Great day in the Springs.....

Ft Carson Celebration..

Last night Armando and I went on post to participate in the 4th of July festivities! Parking near the festival was full so we parked right inside one of the gates and got on Military buses that shuttled people to and from the park. Once we got there we were amazed with how many people were there! The weather was nice at first but then we realized we should've brought along a jacket or hoodie! It was very chilly, which is not something either one of us are used to. We didn't have any chairs as we cannot retrieve our stuff from the Military until after the weekend but luckily we found a bench behind a building facing right towards the fireworks. It was nice, and kinda blocked the cold wind from attacking us! :) We had BBQ from one of the vendors, with a cold glass of Lemonade and just sat around waiting for the fireworks to begin. While we were waiting we looked up and saw one of Armando' s SSG's and his family. They watched the fireworks with us. Before the fireworks were over we hurried back to the location where the buses were and luckily got on and back to our car in time to get off post before the traffic got too bad! Stayed the night at The Best Western again, and are about to start our day. This will be our first day of exploring really...so we are excited to see what all the Springs has to offer!

Good Morning Colorado Springs!!!!

Woke up this morning to a familar alarm but quickly realized in my sleepy daze that I wasn't "home" in Killeen! Wait a second I thought... I'm in Colorado Springs! I hurridly got out of bed, and opened the curtains to be welcomed by bright mountain sunshine beaming through the big hotel windows!! How exciting! I feel a million miles away from My mom, brother and G-ma, but it's not so bad. I have my best friend in the world beside me and although I'd love to see my family, I know I am right where I belong!! That reminds me, yesterday during all of the commotion, I started to get a little emotional as I tried to pull my emotions together after a short prayer I opened my eyes to Armando saying...."WOW, look honey, it's 2 rainbows side by side!!!" Oh how beautiful!!! That was my sign! I then felt okay as if the Lord put them there... not one but two to show me that Armando and I would "both" be okay! With all of that said I sit here watching the news and writting this blog entry about to start our day! Wishing everyone health and hapiness!

P.S. I have the greatest Mother and Grandmother anyone in this world could ever ask for! -J

Home Sweet Home..

What a day! We started our day this morning in Clayton NM where we stayed the night at the Days Inn. After a slow start, we got on the road to head to our new apartment in Colorado Springs Colorado! The closer we got the more and more moutains we saw. It was amazing to see the Mountains appear so faintly off in the very distant skyline and watch them "grow" as we got closer, this was very exciting!! It began to rain and lightning the closer we got. We stopped in Trinidad at the Visitor's Center where there was no where to park the Trailblazer as we were pulling the Camaro behind us using a tow dolly. We ended up parking accross the street at a KFC/TacoBell where we had lunch afterwards. Once we were back on the road we were even more excited! I made a quick call to the apartment to make sure the leasing office would be open and we were apartment bound! After arriving we ended up going to the wrong Apartments due to a faulty GPS... go figure...right? Finally we arrived at our apartments. After a long search for a place to park the big beast we were driving, we found ourselves soaked sitting in the Leasing office signing documents! The lady handed us our keys and we were back into the pouring rain heading to our car excited to be able to finally see our new home. Nothing's ever that simple when it comes to us, we quickly realized there was no where for us to park by our home. Soaked and cold we began driving around making numerous phone calls trying to find someone to put the Driveshaft back in the camaro so we could return the tow dolly to Uhaul. No luck!!!!! We decided to go on post and saw a MP who escorted us to a do-it-yourself auto center where we thought we would be able to put the driveshaft back in but once again to no avail! One of the workers used his truck to pull the camaro from the dolly and we left it there overnight. Next, we headed back to the apartments and luckily found a spot where we could park the car/trailor and have enough time to view our new apartment! We loved it and can't wait to get moved in! Now, we were quickly gonna go to a Uhaul and rid ourselves of this chaos.... Once again, we couldnt find a Uhaul that had a Drop box, only the small independent ones!!! After 3 calls to Uhaul we finally found a location where we could drop it off! We're now in a Best Western about to eat dinner and get some much needed sleep, excited about what tomorrow brings!!!

New town, New beginnings.... we're ready for you!!!!
