More Pics!

Here's a few more pics of the snow!

Here's a quick little video of us the other night in the snow! We were standing beneath a light, and could see ourselves just fine on the Flip, but for some reason it turned out dark! I decided to just go ahead and post it anyways!

Another quick video! This one is from just a few minutes ago! It's still coming down!

More Snowy pics....

(Getting on the Interstate, it was just like this!)

(our parking lot)

These are pictures that we took from our phones when we went out to the grocery store since we didn't have our camera with us!

snow...Snow....SNOW!!!

(pics continued in another post, having to upload them to computer from phone!)

Once again we are having lots of snow! Everyone tells us we will get sick of it at some point but I just don't see how that's possible! Everytime I look out the window and see the yard..street.. trees and mountains covered in snow I just smile!!! Just another beautiful gift from the Lord! It just amazes me! Everything is perfectly blanketed in white! It just takes my breath away! Last night Armando and I went to King Soopers (grocery store) and we sat in the snow covered parking lot watching people all bundled up, braving the cold weather and snow covered streets to get groceries! All the while, there were millions of tiny little unique snowflakes falling all around!
We got out and took a couple of pictures and although it was dark, it still brought out it's on beauty! I just wanted to hop on and share a few of the photos with you guys! We will be taking more during the daytime soon! The forecast is giving 3 more inches tonight and 3 tomorrow!!!! We already have around 5 inches I would say! the temperatures are still dropping below freezing so we are keeping the heater going constantly in order to stay warm!

We will be leaving in 12 days headed home to Mississippi for Christmas and oh how excited I am!!!!!! I can't wait to see everyone but especially, My Mom, Dad, Brother and Ma and Pa!!!!!! Oh and believe it or not Little Bit... I miss him too! ;)

Well hope you guys enjoy the photos! I'll post again soon!
Lots of love!!

Negative 2 degrees... OH MY!!!

It's true! The temperature is -2!!! I think it reached -5 overnight and boy oh boy is it cold! It's been snowing the past few days so it's beautiful, but who would want to be out in it as cold as it is! This is definetly weather like I've never experienced before!

On another note... Armando was supposed to have surgery today but it was cancelled because the hospital's generators are down and they wont do any surgeries incase they lost the main power and wouldn't have backup! I guess we will probably reschedule it for the first of the year which is nice, that way Armando can enjoy the holidays without being in a sling and not being able to use his arm! Now that he doesn't have surgery... he has 2 be in the field for a week, I miss him already! I hate not having him home!

We decorated and took a few pictures! We will take more later and I'll post some of them! Still have to get our Christmas photo together and such!

Hope everyone is having a great week!

Love you all!

A time to be thankful....

and boy do we have alot to be thankful for!!! God is good!!! This Thanksgiving is going to be extra special since Armando is home and safe, able to share it with me!

We went yesterday and bought all of our stuff for a big Thanksgiving dinner with friends! It's nice to know we have good friends to share it with since we cannot be back home around family!
We are going to cook a Turkey for the first time! EEEK! Hoping it turns out good for everyone! We will take pictures and make sure to post them soon!

Also, it's family tradition on my Mom's side of the family to put Christmas decorations up on Thanksgiving Day! Armando and I do this as well, so we look forward to putting our tree up tommorow!!!! We've already been listening to Christmas music! Everyone out here is already in the Christmas spirit! All of the stores have been playing holiday tunes for a while now!

On Friday, we are leaving the house at 1:00 AM for the Black Friday sales! Armando has his eye on a new laptop we're going to try to get! *fingers crossed* I look forward to finishing up Christmas shopping, but do not look forward to braving this cold Colorado weather for hours trying to get a laptop! lol I started going to Black Friday many years ago with my Aunt Sandra! She's always included me in lots of fun things that I would have never got to do if it weren't for her, so for memories sake I will be making some stops at a few stores that I remember being excited about going to with her! Speaking of my Aunt Sandra, I first came to CO because of her inviting me on a road trip! I never knew back then I would be living here and getting ready to celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas! Just one of many things I am thankful for! I was blessed with so many wonderful Aunts who are very near and dear to my heart!

On another note, I am up early this morning because I had to make a Catalina Taco Salad for Armando's NCO dinner at work! Hope it turned out okay and everyone enjoys it! Now, I'm off to get ready for Armando's appointment at the Air Force. This will be our last appointment before his surgery on the 4th! I have to go take classes on how to properly take care of him and how to do his range of motion when he returns home from the hospital! Keep him in your prayers!!

I love you all and wish you a Very Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

Lots of love,
Jenny

Winter Fun!

Yesterday Armando and I made our very first snowman together!!! It was lots of fun! After we played around in the snow here at home we went to Walmart and bought a sled to go sledding! After driving around to a few different parks, we finally found one by our house that had big hills! I did some sledding, but mostly took pictures....ARMANDO HAD A BLAST!!! We had tons of fun! It's always great doing things together for the first time!!! We're always looking for stuff new stuff to do!

The mountains, lakes and hills were absolutely amazing which just made the fun all that more exciting! It's just absolutely beautiful here!
Here's a video of Armando sledding! :)
(Aren't the mountains beautiful!!?!!)

Another snowy morning...

I woke up this morning to lots of snow! I haven't measure it, but it looks to be around 4 or 5 inches and still snowing! it's absolutely beautiful! I can't wait for Armando to wake up and see it! Maybe today we will make our first snowman together! I will post pics later after Armando wakes up and we get outside for a while.

We both had a good week! Armando was off on Wednesday for Veterans day and on Thursday he had CQ where he works for 24 hours. Friday we went and did a lil Christmas shopping, bought our Christmas cards and things like that. Then we went and saw A Christmas Carol 3D! It was a great movie and really put me in the Christmas spirit! Yesterday was pretty much a lazy day here at home, we didn't even leave the house!

Oh! How could I forget, on Tuesday morning I woke up to a big beautiful boquet of roses from my sweet husband! I am so blessed to have a husband that's always doing little things to let me know he loves and appreciates me! It was very sweet!

Sorry I haven't updated in a while, time just seems to fly by and the day is over before I ever make the time to sit down and write.

Hope everyone is doing good! Wish you were all here to see this beautiful snow! God is Good!!!

Love you all!

Prayer....

Just a quick update..

I'm sure all of you have heard about the shootings in Ft. Hood by now. We were very saddened too hear the terrible news. Just wanted to write and ask all of you to say a special prayer for the family and friends that have lost loved ones today! We are praying that it isn't anyone we know on a personal basis. Regaurdless, this is our "family"! We all may not know one another, or even get along at times BUT we are all one big family... apart of something/roles that noone could even begin to understand unless they had walked in A Military person/family members shoes!

I pray that this horrific shooting will shed light on what these wars are doing to our soldiers and their families mental state. This is a hard life........... one that is not respected and acknowledged like it should be!

GOD BLESS AMERICA AND GOD BLESS THE AMAZING MEN AND WOMEN WHO SO BRAVELY AND UNSELFISHLY SERVE THIS COUNTRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FT. HOOD SOLDIERS AND FAMILIES NEED YOUR PRAYERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mon: 10/26 Our last day..

MY BEAUTIFUL MOTHER!!! (@Famous Dave's!)

View from our back porch!

Tree in our front yard!

Armando going to scrape ice and snow off his car so he could go to work!

Monday morning Armando had to go to work. Mom and I got up and showered then picked Tammy and Judy up! We went to the huge Goodwill store, to the Post Office and then met Armando for lunch at Famous Dave's BBQ! Lunch was great, then we all headed back to our house. Tammy took a short nap, and the rest of us sorted through pictures. Time flew by and before we knew it, it was 3:00.... time to take them to the airport! It's only a short drive to the airport, I was very sad to say see you later!

I had the best time this past weekend with everyone, but it was beyond great to see my Mother! My Mom has been my best friend my entire life! We share everything together! It was amazing being able to share Colorado with her, the mountains, and our first big snow! It was even more amazing that I got to share it with both of my best friends!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so thankful for both Armando and my mother! This was truly a weekend to remember!

I look forward to more visits in the future!

God is Good!!!!! <><

Love you all, and look forward to ALL of you visiting us soon!

At the first overlook in Pike's Peak Park!

Sunday morning Armando, Mom, and I all got up early to go get Tammy and Judy at their hotel! On our way we made a quick stop by McDonald's for breakfast, then headed off to Pike's Peak! When we arrived they told us it was going to be half the price it usually is becaue we could only go 14 miles up due to weather! Shortly after entering the park we started seeing little patches of snow! The further we drove, the more we saw! Once we got to Glen Cove which was the stopping point there was over a foot of snow on the ground! We were all really excited! It was beautiful!!!!! There was also a fox that came right up to us... the workers said he was always there, and that his name was Wilbur! We took pictures, then went inside to do a little shopping, and while we were I looked outside to see it snowing like crazy! The roads were covered as we headed back down! Armando did great driving though! We decided to go on to Cripple Creek. While we were there we had lunch and due to all of the snow that was falling we decided we should leave before dark! As we headed down the mountain the roads were covered with snow, and it was hard to see. The wipers were frozen and not removing the ice and snow very well from the windows!!! It was beautiful but scary! We had many, many laughs on our way back down! We stopped at Walmart and printed pictures once we got back to Colorado Springs then went home for the night, where we had 3 to 4 inches of snow! It was a perfect snowy day that I am so glad I got to share not only with Armando but my Mom and family!!! It was definetly a day we all will never forget!

Mom and I woke up super early, and started cooking breakfast! Armando got up shortly after and we all enjoyed my Mom's yummy biscuits!!!! After we all showered and got dressed for the day we went and picked Tammy and Judy up from thier hotel and headed off to Manitou Springs! It was a beautiful day!

We arrived at Manitou Springs after a short drive, found a parking spot and ventured down the beautiful streets of Manitou where the Emma Crawford Coffin Races and parade were about to happen! The streets were full of people shopping, hanging around for the parade and races, and lots of people dressed in all kinds of costumes!!!! It was very neat! We went in lots of little shops, including an old arcade where we all played an old bowling game!! Later we ate some homemade candy from the Candy Store and just enjoyed the morning, laughing and taking lots of photos!

After watching the parade we had dinner at a neat little restraunt! Then we went to The Garden of the Gods! Aftre Garden of the God's we took my family to the High Drive! Along the way we stopped at Helen Hunt Falls which was beautiful as always! I think my family enjoyed seeing the view of the city!! Next we dropped Tammy and Judy off and went home for the night!
