The cold weather has arrived!!!

We woke up this morning to a cold Colorado day! The temp. was 33!!!! The later in the day it got the colder it seemed! Eventually the wind got up, and it started to rain! After a while you could no longer see the mountains and it started to sleet for a short time... after all of the fog cleared and you could see the mountains again, I saw ice covered mountains with snow!!!!!!! Unbeleivable! Looks like we are gonna be in for a crazy winter! One like neither of us have ever experienced before!!! Armando came home for lunch and was freezing so he turned the heat on! People are actually starting to use their fireplaces! I don't blame them in this kind of weather! I am making some vegetable soup for dinner! Hope it turns out good!

This past weekend we made a trip to the Rocky Mtn. National Park! It was alot of fun, it's actually mating season for Elk. They were bugling like crazy! It was eerie to sit where it was so quiet and peacful then here a shrieking bugle from elk nearby! They gathered in huge groups right along the road! It was definetly an experience! Sunday we just hung out around the house and spent time together which is one of our favorite things to do! Looking forward to this cold Colorado week!!!

I added a few pics from the weekend! Will try to post some of the mountains in a little bit! Hope everyone is doing good!

Lots of Love!

The Army Life....

Well, Armando finally got in to see an Orthopedic yesterday! After checking his Range of Motion and viewing his MRI's from Ft. Hood the Doctor nodded in agreement that he very well did have a torn roatator cuff just as the two doctors from Ft. Hood had previously stated! The doctor then left the room telling Armando he was going to find out what day was open that surgery could be performed! He left the room for a short time, returned with a whole new outlook... no longer was he gonna do surgery he suppossedly spoke with a "more experienced" doctor and was now just going to give Armando a steroid shot..... stating the he no longer thought it was a torn rotator cuff but Tendonitis!

This infuritaed me that 3 people said it is torn and he needs surgery to try and repair it including one doctor who within minutes who changed his mind....
He was told to return in a month for a follow up!

Armando had a PT test today which obviously he couldn't take so he went to sick call. There he saw a Medic who heard Armando's story and then took him to speak to his superior. This man was livid saying that Armando's experience made no sense and that they were just trying to not perform the surgery that he needed! I am taking massive notes on this whole process. Armando's health and happiness are of utmost importance to me so we will be making a trip on post to receive all of his MRI's and medical records and taking him off post to pay out of pocket for another opinion! It is crucial that he gets the proper medical attention that he deserves and I am going to make sure that it happens!!!!! Our Soldiers do far too much for this Country on a daily basis and it's sad that they are not taken care of when needed!!!!!!!

PRAY for our soldiers and thier families! Our service men and women past and present make this world what it is for you and I and future generations! They deserve respect!

Colorado State Fair...

Armando and I had a great 4day weekend! On Friday we went to Pueblo to the Colorado State Fair! It was huge! The weather was nice and there were lots of people out! We played some games and as you can see in the photo, I beat Armando and won a big stuffed worm! :) We ate some good food and sat on a big grassy hill and listened to an awesome band called Strike III!!! They played alot of Southern Rock! It was interesting to say the least! People were dancing and acting all crazy! We had alot of fun! We also saw a "freak side show"! Craziness!!! There was a six legged cow... smallest full grown horse in the world.... a 2 nosed cow.. and then all sorts of things in jars like the picture above! We were weirded out! lol On Saturday we spent the day at home pretty much, and went for a late night drive and washed the Camaro! Sunday was a lazy day too, but we did some organizing in the extra bedroom! Today we did some cleaning, went to get Armando's hair cut and did some grocery shopping! I used coupons for the first time and got quite a bit of stuff for free! We were excited about that! It was all stuff we needed! Armando starts back to work tomorrow. I am glad I got to spend the past 4 days with him! I always enjoy him being home even when we don't do much! It's just nice to have him by my side! The weather here has turned much cooler at night time! By the end of the month it's expected to be in the low 40's! We are looking forward to it now, but will probably change our minds after a few cold nights! Just wanted to give a quick update. We will write more later!

GRANDMA BETH......

These two photos are of Armando and his late Grandma Elizabeth Goettle!!!
I wanted to share these with everyone because Armando loved his Grandma VERY much!
She too loved him! They created a bond with each other that will last forever! I have heard many stories of her, and the things they used to do together! She was a very talented lady, and form the stories I've heard, had a huge heart!
The memories they shared will live on forever as Armando will always carry her in his heart!
Armando's Mom sent these photos to me as I had texted her needing photos for a shadowbox project! When the project is completed I will post pictures for you guys to see!!!

MY HANDSOME HUSBAND!!!!!

Here are a few quick pics that we took the other night!!! I am so proud of Armando.... He always looks handsome to me and I'm always proud of everything he is and does, but when I saw him in his new Dress Blues I WAS SO PROUD of what he's done and what he stands for!!!!!! I am so thankful and feel so blessed to be able to call myself his wife!

Quick update!

Yesterday I played the NOS sweepstakes and couldn't believe what I won.....

A NOS BARREL COOLER!!! HAHAHA I have no clue where we are gonna put it once it arrives!?! It surely was worth playing, it gave Armando and I a big laugh! I always won a 3 month subscription to Club POGO! That'll be fun Armando and I love playing games!

On another note, Armando had to go do the Manitou Incline for PT yesterday morning! He left the house around 3:30 AM! He did it and I was very proud of him as he hasn't been doing alot of PT (due to his shoulders) like the other guys, and also the altitude is bad enough for us when not excercising! He had a hard time, but he did it!!!!!!

It is very steep! You gain about 2000 ft. in elevation! The steps are made from Old Railroad ties!!!! Some very hig and far apart, others close together! It is a mile long up the mountain! I am going to include an old picture that will show you how far he climbed!!!!

We took a few pictures of Armando very quickly the other night of his Dress Blues... I will add those in a bit when I get them off of my camera! We're gonna take more later!

That's all for now! I have a busy day! Take Care!!

Finally..... an update!!!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, I have had trouble with my laptop. After trying to figure out what the problem was, I eventually had to dump the hard drive and start over! I should post more often now that it is back in tip top condition! Life is good here in Colorado Springs! The weather is starting to be VERY nice! Warm days complimented with a nice cool breeze, and chilly nights!!! It's nice to be able to wear a light jacket or some nights even a hoodie when going out compared to the hot Texas heat! Armando just finished 10 days of TDY (leave from work)! He went back to work yesterday on a regular schedule for the first time since returning from Iraq! I wouldn't take back all of the time we have had to spend together for anything! I've had so much fun!!!

Friday night, he suprised me with a sunset dinner on the mountainside looking over at Pikes Peak and the other surrounding mountains! He cooked dinner and packed it up neatly and everything but forgot plates! ;) Thats okay, we just ate out of the containers! lol It was lots of fun! We ended the night with Baskin Robbins, which is always a plus! ;)

The house is starting to look much better! We just need to build some shelves for the extra bedroom so that we have some places to store my scrapbooking stuff.... Army stuff ...etc.

We had 19 people over one day and grilled out! It was nice to meet some of the other wives, although I was busy in the kitchen most of the time! We way overcooked! lol I would rather have too much than not enough though! I think everyone had a good time and got full and that's all that matters! I got to see Lace and Lily which was nice they came over and stayed a long time!

ALso there were 2 new additions to our extended family this past week!!! Cayden Ace McCracken (Josh and Nicole's baby boy) and Mikaylia (Aydree & Matt had thier little girl)! Oh and today, little Cloie(sp?) will come into the world!!! (Dean & Cody's baby!) We wish all of them the best!!!!!

That's about it for now! I have some chores to do around the house, then when Armando gets home from work, we get to go pick up his new Class A's! They are no longer Dress Greens, now... they are Dress Blues! We will be taking pictures this afternoon, so I'll be sure to post some of his new pics up soon!!!

Take care! We love you guys! Keep in touch!
(Excited about October... MY MOM IS COMING!!!!!) *fingers crossed*
